The Art of Gratitude

Heart of Gratitude!!!

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by.. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy..

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind.

Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have.. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.

Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling… And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

If you like this, share.

Enjoy your day and a good week with a heart of gratitude.

Dairy of a shopper

MY GIST
You will never believe what happened to me at The Palms. I went to Shoprite to pick up something to drink. As I walked down the isle, I noticed this lady staring at me. I looked at her and kept walking to the front counter to get some candy. I picked up the candy and turned to find something to drink. When I turned around, the same lady was standing right behind me in my face. So, I smiled and said, "HI!"

Then I went on to get a bottle of spring water. Can you believe that same lady followed me through the store?! I was getting a little nervous " I smiled again and said, "Hi. She finally responded and said, "I am so sorry for staring, but you look just like my youngest son who passed away just two weeks ago."

... She then asked me to get in line behind her and as she left the store say..... "Bye Momma" so that she could have some sense of closure!! I must admit that her request threw me for a second. However, thinking that this was my opportunity for intercessory, I agreed and got in line behind her. As she got her bag from the cashier and walked away, I said, "Bye Momma!!!"
She smiled with tears in her eyes and said, "Bye my son." When I reached the counter, the cashier rang up my gum and bottle of water and said, "That will be N6470.50." I said, "WHAT!?!" As if I couldn't hear, she repeated it, "N6470.50." I said, "Can you tell me how a pack of N30.00 gum and a bottle of N200.00 water equal N6470.50?!"
She said, "Your mother said that you were paying for her stuff too." I said, "MY MOTHER!?! THAT WAS NOT MY MOTHER!!!" I literally dropped everything and ran out of the store, just in time to see the lady going up an escalator to the upper parking. I ran after her and was yelling..
"Excuse me, Excuse me!!!" When she turned around and saw me, she started running to her car. I caught her before she was able to shut the door. But she tried to escape out of the passenger's side. So, I lunged at her only to grab her leg. By this time, security personnel were coming anyway. I started causing a real scene ... yanking and pulling on her leg!! I kept pulling her leg and pulling her leg... Just like I'm pulling yours now!!!!!!!!! !!!! Kai, you too like gist!!!!!!!! !!
